In this emotionally resonant session of Neurostim for Clinical Profiles, Dr. Nicholas Dogris and Dr. Tiff Thompson explore the deep neurological impact of developmental trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Early and prolonged exposure to adversity—whether emotional, physical, or environmental—can leave lasting imprints on the brain, often reflected in EEG as frontal asymmetry, excess beta activity, dysregulated alpha, and high-frequency aperiodic noise. These profiles mirror a brain stuck in hypervigilance, with diminished capacity for self-regulation and resilience.

The lecture emphasizes neurostimulation as a compassionate, brain-based intervention that can help gently shift individuals out of chronic survival states. Attendees will learn to identify EEG and ERP markers commonly seen in trauma presentations and how to design neuromodulation protocols—using tools like pEMF, alternating current stimulation, and photobiomodulation—to restore balance in the autonomic nervous system and rebuild neural flexibility. Whether working with developmental trauma, complex PTSD, or single-incident trauma, this session offers actionable strategies to support healing from the inside out.

Each month this special series features 2-hour lectures with Nick and Tiff paired up to share their insights.  Tiff will detail the profiles seen in various conditions and Nick will discuss protocols he finds most effective in changing the condition’s presentation and its corollary symptoms.
