SEP 2025 Guest Speaker: Selen Atasoy

From Brain Harmonics to Harmony Within

Thursday September 25, 2025 | 2:00pm PST

Join Selen to explore how the brain’s natural harmonic patterns can help us understand states of consciousness and guide us towards greater inner harmony. Drawing from her research on connectome harmonics and altered states,Selen share both scientific insights and practical perspectives on how the mind can shift from stress and fragmentation to balance and authenticity.

About Selen

Selen Atasoy, PhD is a BACP-registered counsellor in private practice and a neuroscientist with a long-standing fascination for consciousness. She holds a PhD in medical imaging from a joint program between the Technical University of Munich and Imperial College London, and has held postdoctoral research positions at the University of New South Wales (Sydney), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London, and the Centre for Eudaimonia and Human Flourishing at the University of Oxford.

Selen’s scientific work focused on brain dynamics across different states of consciousness—including sleep, meditation, psychedelics, and early development—using fMRI and a mathematical framework based on harmonic waves, a pattern found throughout nature.

After more than a decade in neuroscience research, Selen trained as a Gestalt counsellor at the Gestalt Centre London and continued to deepen her practice through Jungian dream analysis and body-oriented mindfulness-based psychotherapy, as well as meditation. Today, she brings all of this into her counselling work—offering a space where neuroscience meets the human psyche, and where you’re supported in returning to your own authentic self.
