with Dr. Tiff Thompson, QEEG-D., BCN, PhD., LMFT
Recordings are available for each session, after it concludes.
In this August session, we explore the EEG characteristics of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), including heightened frontal beta activity, excessive coherence in fronto-striatal circuits, and disturbances in error detection systems, as seen in the error-related negativity (ERN) component of ERP. These findings reflect the cognitive rigidity, hypervigilance, and overactive inhibitory control often present in OCD. The lecture discusses how EEG-based insights can help distinguish OCD from anxiety and attention disorders and how to apply neuromodulatory techniques to reduce symptom burden.
This monthly lecture series presented by Dr. Tiff Thompson, a seasoned clinician and educator in the fields of neuroanalysis, EEG, and mental health, spotlights a specific neurological, psychiatric, or neurodevelopmental disorder, providing in-depth clinical insight into its presentation, pathophysiology, and relevance to neurotherapy.
