Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's, and Neurodivergence

Thursday, September 11, 2025 | 9am – 11am PST

ASD (autism spectrum disorder) includes a broad spectrum of disorders that affects social skills, speech, movement, learning, cognition, mood and behavior. Rates of autism are increasing dramatically because of increased awareness and screening, better access to healthcare and broadened diagnostic criteria.

ASD is a neurodevelopmental condition typically diagnosed during childhood. ASD is now an umbrella term that covers the different levels of autism. Many people still use the term Autism. ASD includes several conditions within the spectrum including those that providers used to consider separate, such as Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder.

Neurodivergent is a nonmedical term that describes a person whose brain develops or works differently for some reason. This means the person has different strengths and struggles from those whose brains develop or work more typically. While some people who are neurodivergent have medical conditions, for others a medical condition or diagnosis hasn’t been identified.

This lecture series features Nick and Tiff together.  Tiff will detail the profiles seen in various conditions and Nick will discuss protocols that he finds most effective in changing the condition’s presentation and its corollary symptoms.
